Grieg, Reinecke, Reisenauer...

B. Heise and her team in Leipzig have published a very interesting article at DMM (Sep 2017) on Hupfeld documents that were found at the Leipzig Staatsarchiv. A huge amount of Hupfeld documents are in their archives - so they are not lost, as many people thought. Research has just started. One very interesting folder contains the contracts with the various artists. Fascinating details are in there, i.e. the relation to contracts with M. Welte and H. Popper (!) and about the "dynamic recital instructions" along with the authentic recordings. There will be surely very valuable findings once all the other documents are read.

More than 180 contracts with pianists are found. Grieg, Reisenauer, Reinecke, Leschetizky, von Sauer and many more of the most famous are documented.
